- Wrap or Tortilla. A medium-sized wrap works best to hold the ingredients.
- Smoked Turkey. Any deli turkey will work in this wrap recipe, but smoked turkey that’s sliced thin is our favorite. I recommend organic for best results.
- Sharp American or Cheddar Cheese Slices. This cheese pairs perfectly with the turkey and bacon, but any sliced cheese will be fine.
- Cooked Bacon. Regular sliced, high-quality bacon is the best choice for this wrap. You can purchase pre-cooked bacon or cook it yourself and store it in the fridge or freezer when the craving for turkey bacon wrap hits. You can cook the bacon in the oven or fry it in a pan.
- Ranch Dressing. I prefer using a yogurt ranch dressing to lower the fat and calories. You can find yogurt dressing in the produce section near the salad stuff, and regular ranch dressing works too.
- Tomato Slices. Plum or vine riped tomatoes are our favorite in any sandwich wrap recipe.
- Romaine Lettuce. I like to purchase prewashed chopped or shredded romaine to keep this recipe easy.
How to Make a Turkey Wrap with Bacon
This healthy turkey wrap is so easy to make! I hardest part is cooking the bacon.
- If you haven’t already, cook the bacon. You can do this in the oven or fry it in a frying pan. Let the bacon cool slightly before using. If the cooked bacon was in the fridge then put it in the microwave for 30 -40 seconds to crisp it back up.
- Spread the ranch yogurt dressing over the center of the wrap or tortilla.
- Add a couple of turkey slices, cheese, bacon, tomato, and romaine.
- Serve some extra ranch on the side if you like to dip your turkey wraps!
Substitutions
- For low carb, use a low-carb wrap or try a lettuce leaf like in this turkey bacon lettuce wrap.
- Use a gluten-free wrap for a gluten-free option. Our favorite gluten-free tortilla brand is Mission.
- You can use turkey bacon instead of regular bacon for a lower-fat option.
- Swap in your favorite cheese. We love pepper jack and provolone.
- If you can’t find yogurt ranch dressing, then regular will work. In this turkey club wrap, you can also use any creamy dressing, mayonnaise, plain greek yogurt, or mashed avocado.
- Swap in baby spinach or other greens for the lettuce.
- Boost the veggies by adding cucumber, shredded carrots, onions, or your favorite vegetables.
Storage Tips
For the week: You can prep all the ingredients (cook all the bacon and chop the veggies) ahead of time and have them in containers ready to go. Then, when you want to make a wrap, you need to pull everything out and make it!
You can also make the turkey wraps the night before; I don’t recommend making them more than a day ahead of time because the wrap can get soggy.
FAQs
One way to keep a wrap from getting soggy is to layer the cheese on first to act as a barricade between the ranch dressing, mayonnaise, or other wet ingredients. You can also wrap in foil which helps the wrap hold its shape and keep excess moisture out, preventing the wrap from getting soggy. Using a sturdy tortilla that doesn’t get soggy from wet ingredients is also helpful.
Any medium-size wrap or tortilla type will work great for this turkey wrap with bacon. You can also use a low-calorie for a healthier option, or a gluten-free option, use a gluten-free wrap.
