Emeals now offers a Keto Meal Plan. As a longtime Emeals subscriber I decided to give the new keto approved recipes a try, this is my review.

Emeals Keto Meal Plan Review
Creating new healthy eating habits, and sticking with them, is never easy. In fact, I feel pretty confident saying it’s one of the hardest parts of losing weight. It’d be nice to exercise away a bad diet but I think we all know by now that food matters!
Think about it…
If we could wake up and magically stop eating pizza, pasta, and sugar then I wouldn’t be writing this blog. Unfortunately, that’s not the case. Removing bad eating habits and replacing them with better ones takes effort.
This is even more true when someone is switching to a speciality diet such as Keto. It’s one thing to reduce calories but it’s a whole new ball game when you need to pay attention to entire food groups or specific ingredients. That can get confusing, and frustrating, quickly.
Personally, I think the most difficult part to any new eating style is finding recipes and putting together meal plans. If you’re not used to doing this then healthy meal planning could take you hours. I’m not saying this to discourage you but I’m just thinking back to when I started my weight loss journey in 2010. I used to spend HOURS with my cookbooks trying to figure out recipes for the week. Then I’d spend even more time putting together grocery lists. THEN I still needed to grocery shop and meal prep. Honestly, it was grueling. And at that time, I was just searching for healthier versions of recipes I already ate. I can’t imagine if I was trying to switch to a Keto eating style!
Everyone has their own reasons for switching to a Keto lifestyle, so I’m not here to debate whether or not it’s a good decision. You know what’s best for you – I’m just here to help make it easier.
Things have changed since I started my weight loss journey. Today, there are plenty of meal planning services available making it easier to switch over to a healthier way of eating, including Keto. eMeals, a meal planning service I’ve been with since 2012, just introduced their new 4-week Keto Meal Plan.
Before I get into my personal review of the Keto meal plan I want to give you a quick overview of eMeals, just in case you’re not familiar with it.
eMeals Overview
eMeals is a weekly meal planning service. You start by signing up for one of their 21 meal plans. They have every type of meal plan you can imagine.
They offer healthy eating meal plans such as clean eating along with quick and healthy.
eMeals also offers weight management meal plans such as low-calorie, low- carb, and now keto. If you’re looking for a weekly meal plan that’ll help you lose weight, and create better eating habits, then all of these will do the trick!

If you’re simply looking to save money or want classic dinners the entire family will like then check out one of their family inspired meal plans. On a side note, I’ve tried many of their meals plans and I think they all include recipes the entire family would like. So, don’t shy away from any of the weight loss meal plans just because you’re afraid your family won’t like the recipes. My kids are picky eaters and they enjoyed many of the recipes I’ve made from eMeals.

eMeals has also teamed up with top food brands to create meal plans using their recipes. I used the EatingWell meal plan many times and love it.
As you can see, eMeals truly offers something for everyone. Once you sign up for one of their meal plans then eMeals sends you a new weekly meal plan, and grocery list, to your inbox every Wednesday. Personally, I love that the meal plan comes on Wednesday because this allows me to shop on Friday or Saturday and then meal prep everything I can on Sundays.
The one thing I really like about eMeals is you can switch meal plans at any time. So if you sign up for the new Keto meal plan and then decide you’d rather do clean eating or one of the others then you can easily do that. Just go your eMeals account and click on “switch to another meal plan”. From there you can review other menus and see if you’d rather try something else.
You can also add on a breakfast menu, lunch menu, dessert menu, occasions menu, or another dinner menu for an additional charge. Honestly, for a minimal amount you never have to plan another menu again. Just sayin…eMeals has it all taken care of.
The last thing I want to mention about eMeals is their app. I actually use the app more than I do their website. Not only does the weekly meal plan get sent to my inbox but it can also be found in the app. You can view both this week’s and last week’s meal plan.
In the app you can add recipes to your favorites to make again. This feature is not on the website but you can print out the recipe to save for a future use.
From there you can quickly choose the recipes you want to make and create a shopping list.
Last, if you prefer to get your groceries delivered, or schedule them for pick up, then you’ll be happy to know that eMeals works with Instacart and many of the other grocery delivery services.
Like I said, I’ve been an eMeals subscriber since 2012. I’ve mostly used their EatingWell and Clean Eating meal plan but I have tried the low carb, Mediterranean, slow cooker meal plan, and now the new Keto Meal Plan. I don’t use their recipes every single week but I’m always happy to have the recipes available when needed. Not to mention, I really look forward to seeing what’s on the menu week after week for meal inspiration. I think eMeals is a fantastic service that’s totally worth the cost.
How Much Does eMeals Cost?
eMeals costs $58 a year. Personally, I think that is a major steal considering everything you get with this meal planning service. You get healthy meals curated every single week, all the nutritional information figured out, a grocery list put together, and everything else I talked about. That’s a little over $1 a week.

The New Emeals Keto Meal Plan
Alright, let’s chat about the new 4- week Keto meal plan. In full disclosure, I don’t follow a Keto diet so I’m not 100% familiar with all that it entails. However, I do see the benefits in following a lower carb lifestyle so I was happy to give these recipes a try.
All the keto recipes are dietitian-approved to target the right macros to increase weight loss, yet are approachable and enjoyable. This is huge! I think most people struggle on the Keto diet because you need to learn about macros and then figure them out for each meal. Ummm, I barely got through high school math so figuring out anything with numbers and percentages does not sound fun to me. If you feel the same then you’ll see the benefit in the new eMeals Keto Meal plan. Having someone figure it all out for you makes the Keto lifestyle much more realistic and manageable.
This is how the 4-week Keto meal plan currently works. Every week (for 4 weeks) you get a new keto meal plan and then it starts over after 4 weeks, so essentially it’s a 4-week rotating meal plan. After the 4th week you can either start again with week one or try out one of the other low-carb meal plans.
Another thing that’s different from the other meal plans is the keto meal plan offers a breakfast, lunch, and dessert option on top of the dinners. So, you get a full weekly meal plan that covers all meals. For someone just starting with the keto diet I imagine this would be really helpful.
Emeals Keto Recipes
I just want to mention this again. You can switch menus at any time. So, if you decide you want to try the low carb, gluten free, or Paleo plan you certainly can without a problem.
Alright, let’s go over the recipes I tried. I’m not going to lie, I really didn’t know what to expect with a keto recipe. High fat and low carb? Okay. Anyway, I was happy (and slightly excited) when I looked over the new menu. Everything seemed classic and somewhat family-friendly.
One of my biggest complaints with other meal services (specifically meal kits) is that their Keto and Paleo meals are to eclectic! Personally, I like them but to get the rest of my family to eat some of these cuisines would be a straight miracle. eMeals, no matter the meal plan, always includes classic family friendly meals and I was pleased to see that with the keto meal plan too. I’ll talk more about this in a minute.
The two recipes I tried were Meat Lovers Pizza Soup and Skillet Chicken with Spinach Cream Sauce.
Let’s start with the Meat Lovers Pizza Soup. This recipe was very easy to make and I love that it’s a one pot meal. More importantly, it was amazing! Honestly, even Mike said this was the best soup he ever tasted. I even sent some home with a friend who is like a soup connoisseur.
I think the thing I love most about this recipe is it didn’t taste like a special “diet” recipe. It had tons of flavor and was super filling. And it was classic, this soup truly tasted like pizza in a bowl. Also, if the rest of your family isn’t eating Keto they can still enjoy this soup with a slice of crusty bread or even noodles. So, there’s no need to make extra meals. I think this meat lovers pizza soup recipe will satisfy everyone.
The second dinner I made was the Skillet Chicken with Spinach Cream Sauce. Again, this recipe was super easy to follow and make. The ingredient list was short but it still packed a ton of flavor.
We all loved this recipe too! Honestly, it was absolutely delicious. I kept it Keto and didn’t add any carbs to it but everyone else in my family soaked up the sauce with some angel hair pasta. So, just like with the soup recipe, this one can be enjoyed by the entire family even if they’re not eating Keto.
Overall, I was very impressed with new eMeals Keto meal plan. I thought all of the recipes seemed similar to the ones I made – simple ingredients, packed with flavor, and family-friendly. This means if you’re trying to eat Keto, but the rest of your family isn’t, I think the eMeals plan would work for you.
I also really like that the meal plan offers a breakfast, lunch, and dessert option. This is helpful if you’re just starting out with the Keto lifestyle. You don’t need to think about what to eat for any meal. Just print out your meal plan, shop, and cook. Easy peasy!

I am going to give this a try but I’m spending a month in another state and I want to know if I can use emeals using Walmart where I’m going and when I return home?
