Reasons You’ll Love This Recipe
- Easy to prepare. These tasty burger wraps come together in less than 30 minutes, making them perfect for busy weeknights.
- Delicious. This burger wrap is juicy, full of flavor, and will curb any fast food cheeseburger craving!
- Healthy. Everything you love about burgers but without guilt! They are high in protein to fill you up!
- Make-ahead. Preparing the beef filling ahead of time, bring these cheeseburger wraps super fast.
Ingredients
- Lean ground beef. You will get the best results using high-quality organic grass-fed beef. I use 93/7 for a lower fat option, you can use 85/15 ground beef, but that will render more grease after it cooks. I recommend removing as much grease as possible before putting the wraps together.
- Worcestershire sauce. This gives ground beef a rich meaty flavor.
- Ketchup. A little bit goes a long way to give this filling a tasty burger flavor.
- Grated parmesan. Adds another layer of cheese flavor to this cheeseburger wrap filling.
- Spices. Onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper season the ground beef perfectly.
- Tortilla wraps. A medium-sized wrap is perfect for holding all the burger wrap ingredients while still keeping it portion-controlled.
- American cheese. Any cheese will work in these wraps, but American cheese will give it that classic fast-food burger taste.
- Tomatoes, lettuce, and onions. These veggies are optional but, in my opinion, mandatory for the quintessential burger recipe! Also, if you grill the cheeseburger wrap, they go in the wrap beforehand. Trust me; it’s fantastic.
- Condiments. Everything you love on a hamburger can go in this wrap; we love ketchup, mustard, relish, and even mayonnaise. And, yes, these go in before you grill it. Of course, measure out the condiments to keep the calories under control.
How to Make a Cheeseburger Wrap
In a large skillet coated with cooking spray, cook the beef on medium heat until almost cooked through but still a little pink (about 7-10 minutes). Break beef up as it cooks.
Stir in the Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, grated parmesan, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper to the beef. Mix until thoroughly combined.
Continue cooking the meat mixture until the beef is cooked through and no longer pink.
In the center of the wrap, place a slice of cheese and 1/3 cup or so of the beef mixture. Add tomato and lettuce.
Then if you are using, and I highly recommend, add some ketchup, mustard, and a little mayo on top of the meat.
Roll up and place seam side down on a preheated indoor grill for about 3-4 minutes or until there are grill marks.
Once there are grill marks, turn the wrap over. Grill for another 3-4 minutes over medium-high heat, remove the wrap from the grill, and set aside. Continue with the rest of the wraps.
Supplies
- Large skillet
- Lodge grill pan
Serving suggestions.
These are our favorite side dishes to serve with grilled cheeseburger wraps.
- Steamed vegetables. I like to keep it easy by purchasing frozen “steam” in bag veggies,
- Roasted asparagus, roasted broccoli, or these Italian roasted vegetables are delicious.
- Roasted ranch potatoes or Italian roasted potatoes are perfect when you want a burger and fries feel.
- Greek Quinoa Salad, Mexican Quinoa Salad, Pesto Pasta Salad, Caprese Salad with Cherry Tomatoes are tasty to serve on the side.
Cooking tips
- If you don’t have a grill pan, you can cook these burger wraps in a large frying pan.
- You can also fold over the tortilla like a quesadilla instead of rolling. Sometimes I do this when I’m making it larger for my husband.
- Grilling these cheeseburger wraps is scrumptious, but you don’t have to break the grill pan out; they are tasty without the grilled crunch.
Substitutions
- You can swap in ground turkey for beef for a lower-fat option. Or, if you want a vegetarian option, swap in your favorite plant-based crumbles.
- You can use low-carb wraps, gluten-free wraps, or any wrap – they all work great so use your favorite.
- Skip the tortilla altogether and serve the beef filling in a lettuce wrap.
- The filling options are endless with these cheeseburger wraps. Some examples are onions, sauteed mushrooms, jalapenos, pickles, and avocados.
- Ketchup and mustard are the classic hamburger sauces, but you can swap in bbq sauce, ranch, blue cheese dressing, or get creative.
- Switching out the cheese is another way to change the flavor of this burger wrap recipe. Cheddar cheese, pepper jack cheese, gouda cheese, swiss cheese, and mozzarella cheese are all great options.
Storage Tips
For the week: This recipe comes together quickly when you make the ground beef filling ahead of time; after you cook the filling, store it in an airtight container and refrigerate. On cooking day, warm up the meat before making the wraps.
For the freezer: You can freeze the filling to use in future recipes; after the filling cools, store it in an airtight container or freezer bag, label it, and freeze it. If you remember, take the beef filling out the night before to thaw in the fridge. On cooking day, warm up the beef before making the wraps.

Tried this tonight for dinner and it was a hit with everyone. This will definitely be added to our dinner rotation. I even added a piece of bacon to each wrap 😉 Grilling the wraps was a nice addition and also made the wraps more sturdy and easier to hold. Thanks so much!

Only thing I was confused about were the diced onions. They are listed in the ingredients but nowhere in the instructions. What are we supposed to do with them?
Tammy Overhoff says
Sorry about that. The diced onions are used as a condiment or garnish after you make the wraps.
Colette Watrin says
This was really good! Even without the wrap – hamburger seasoning is delish! Thank you!!
Tammy Kresge says

One of our “go to” recipes for busy nights. They are great prepared ahead of time and taken to the soccer field or on busy Wednesdays when we eat on the way to church. They are on the meal plan several times this month due to evening theatre rehearsals for one daughter. I’ve used ground turkey and they are just as delicious. I always watch for the BOGO sales on FlatOut wraps!
Amy says
This recipe looks delicious! Have you ever tried cutting down the amount of beef and adding black beans to a hamburger (or taco meat) recipe? I have done it several times now, and my kids never noticed the difference (they loved it, actually!) It makes it healthier – cuts down on fat and adds fiber. I use canned black beans and drain all or most of the liquid, then put them in a chopper or my Ninja blender and add the mushed up beans into the ground beef before adding seasonings. You don’t have to add the whole can of beans – first time I did about half a can, last time I made it about 3/4 of the can. You also get more servings this way.

Do you freeze with lettuce and tomato on it? I didn’t think that lettuce freezes well?
Kim says
You grill them after you put lettuce and tomato on???
